Hi Bill, Glad to hear you liked War of the Worlds DVD, thought that the omission of original cast would have a profound effect on sound but was overly surprised at the outcome, - Tara Blaze gave Judy Covington's part great justice, The parsons part played by Russel Watson, was OK but not a patch on Phil Lynott - but who could top him? The artilleryman's part was excelently played by Alexis James, thought i would miss the cockney voice of David Essex but did not, The second disc sounds like they have added cast /crew interviews, as the single disc has the making of the show and fighting Machine and how they brought Richard Burton/Jenkins to life. Having said before that the percussionist worked like mad girl, sounds as if she was not on her own, when you consider how big this event was to put together - now i think we all know why it took so long to come to fruition. Cheers ...Carl.

Hi Bill, Will have a look at video store and borrow. How you getting along with the Karrots ?
Carl..whoever dreamed up the Band's name should be shot ! Their music is far better than the humour it suggests. Excellent and instantly listenable... Kind regards, Bill.

Bill, Thats why they changed the bands name to glasshouse - only trouble is no one knew who glasshouse was by then ? - did you have chance to read Keith Karrots bio ? Cheers ...Carl
Not yet....you mean there is really a band member called "Keith Karrot" ???

Ha ha, No not really it was nickname work Buddy's called him, welsh sense of humor nearly everyone in work has nickname? apart from me! one chap when i started my job was called Dicky leg - i could not work out why as he did not limp or struggle to walk - so i asked him why he was called Dicky leg - his reply was that his name was actually Dicky Leg ???

And who felt like a plonker - you live and learn ay ??

Hi Carl, Had a good read at Keith's Karrots page. Didn't know whether to laugh or cry He mentioned "Silver Machine" - I've still got the original 7" single hidden away somewhere. If he's an unfaithful, lying, cheating individual it doesn't come across too strongly in the songs ! Note : I posted here because SB is closing to within 3.5 K !! ( ) Cheers buddy, Bill.

Hi Bill, I was told today that Keith has joined a band called The Storeys , will have a check on line to verify this ? what puzzles me is he says that the band was put together for fun? god knows what would have happened if they played seriously? Cheers ...Carl.

Hi Bill, Some good tracks by the story's the lead singer steve bellissimo was in the west end on stage playing the role of Jesus Christ super star, his usual role of singer was mainly singing in the welsh language - got to say i was pleased that at least two of the band are still making music - as for the Karrots they still get together now and then but not as the original line up. .....Carl.

Hello Carl,Bill, can you tell me what the term "Front End" refers to in a multi source system,C.D, Tuner,Reel to Reel,D.A.T,Turntable,as i was asked today what my front end was and couldnt give an answer,i would say that as i use the Revox the most, that, that would be it or am i missing the point.Carl, that name "Dickie Leg" i,ve heard that name before somwhere,it,ll come to me,speaking of nicknames, when i worked for a newspaper my nickname was B.U.C[ pronounced buck ] it stood for ............wait for it ,Big Ugly and some word beginning with C,never quite figured how it came about, but it was part of the banter going round, and i was never upset by it,Been listening to Pete Seegar to-day on the DAT player, could never really get into his sort of music, but keep on trying, well got to go get ready for this evenings piss up.........Take Care........Dave
