Hi Rik, Spotted something interesting.....Mark Lanegan is an unknown quantity no-one has mentioned yet... Is this the same Mark Lanegan you spoke of ...? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wzdTv7d72O0&feature=related (Other tracks are very reminiscent of U2....)
Thats him yes, butyoutubes vids of him are a tad poor unfortunately I dont know how to play ANY of the 'field songs' album to you but if you can listen to 'LOW'. Its just beautiful

Hi Tamara, Carl, There was me, blissfully talking to myself, one post after another, wondering where everybody was and it turned out they were all next door having a fully fledged witch-hunt Tamara.....when it comes to painting verbal images I must bow to a mistress of the art ! ("...wounded, regret stewed burr"...Wow!)..... It is an extraordinary and unlikely combination these two (Campbell & Lanegan). The incongruous synergy reminds me of Nick Cave & Kylie Minogue except that C&L are more charismatic singers. (Incongruous synergy - was that an oxymoron? ) Must confess I like the music.... (Wish list ???) Carl...I think your diplomatic skills were tested to the full but order seems to be restored..(and why is it they always seem to do this on the Carl Kirby Threads?....We will have to change your designation from "Sex God" to "God of War" ) Best regards, Bill.

Hi Pluto, I confess I secretly suspected you were one of those people with a basement/attic containing 9000 or more albums....
Not quite that many, by a long way. But one day I shall have a count up. I might even have to get my gramophone working again! . (Professional freebies ? )
Over the years I suspect I've put more money back into the music biz than I've taken out of it

Heh heh ! I've got one just like it - so that's what caused it!

Hi Pluto, "Over the years I suspect I've put more money back into the music biz than I've taken out of it..." ....This means someone out there should be dedicating their next album to you....

Hi Pluto, Not quite that many, by a long way. But one day I shall have a count up. I might even have to get my gramophone working again! l'm suffering cerebral overload now.....a digital expert who's thinking of going "analogue" again. Where are the smelling salts!!.....

Hi Carl, Liked your joke...but it was the definitely the fairground image not the ressurrection or shuffle! ...I like the v-sign...was that risque then? speaking of which..You mentioned banned songs. I listened to the 50's banned songs on Smooth radio Saturday 1.00pm laughed myself silly...well sillier! ..but is on listen again....fantastic. I'd given up on smooth I preferred it as saga..but tempted back...enforced listening at the minute...but next week is the 60's music with Tony Blackburn...(I don't like him! why? shrug!)

Hi Bill The "Sunday at Dirt Devil" was playing here and everyone left their cuppas in the kitchen to come and find out what it was..........why haven't I heard it playing on the radio? Or are we all the same kind of peculiar?...actually don't tell me. She produced and scored the album and wrote all but two of the tracks..... This was her second album First one album called Ballad of the Broken Seas, ...not as good to my ear...but.

Bill - I probably have quite a few LPs that haven't been reissued on CD. Funnily enough, I actually bought an LP not so long ago, simply because it appears to be the only edition of the record I was after: George Melly - "It's George"

Hi Pluto, George Melly: a character in many ways http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iBBJZDCk6tY "My Canary has got circles under his Eyes".......This reminds me of my mum....she had a strange sense of humour....and was always shouting about making whoopie!.....This I'm sure is where she got the phrase from.
