Hi Dave, I think we give John one more chance, as long as he abides by the guidelines not attacking others for different beliefs to him etc. I must admit though he had been given a few warnings and seem to hint a few times about getting removed - trying to push the boundaries. I agree we dont want new people to be put off writing on the forums if they fear been personally attacked (which is not on) for expressing an oppinion. Maybe if he stays away from the cable issue it will be better too. Cheers Steve.

Hi Chris, Found this site which has "Soul of Angola" 1965-1975 with samples of the tracks..Artur Nunes is one of them. it is in a sense chaotic because you can only hear quick snippets but the variety is delightful. I think what I like about all of them is the raw sound a mix of calypso, spanish guitar and samba with resonant vocals...at times I am transported back on the one hand to uni and the sound of bongos and on the other to grans antiquaited sambas and tango's on 78's. http://www.sternsmusic.com/disk_info.php?id=362392

Tamara, It's also on Last.fm. I've got to start lookng at Last.fm properly. I've got a logon but haven't used it yet because the 'Genius' function on Itunes is so good. That's an excellent link, thank you - that shop in Warren street is convenient for me to go to. The Myspace link that I posted earlier has the full songs.

Hi Chris, I tend to forget Lastfm. and yet it's one of the best places to find music. Use Youtube a lot. But if Myspace sites are available I'd rather check them out because of the background info that's available. Back to real work..

Hi Tamara, Im glad you like the music. It seems you like a wide variety of music. Do you like U2 at all ?- I like their live dvd album. Dido - their live album is good too. Regards, Steve.

Hi Dave, Good news Mush. You're getting some tender loving care. Have a great time. Be missing you. Look forward to your return. Not all of your trust has been misplaced you've got some good friends here. Best wishes Tamara.

Hi stephen nicholas, I have to honest. I have never realy listened to their music in depth. U2 have heard and like Joshua Tree. Dido I loved "Life For Rent"..i think it struck a cord with me... I never listened to anything else that they have done..... I'll have to rectify that

Hello All,still going to be on-line but have to be carefull what i say,Sis thinks a week or two will do me good, and get me used to a family enviroment,of which i am now firmly getting into, been bolllocked by Vicky and Sam for not being an "uncle "[god makes me feel a 1000 years old]but i intend rectifying this, bought some denim in Manchester, and a few shirts, going to be packing in a while, dont know where Sis has got to,she and the Blazer are not here, she loves the truck, reminds her of her Land Rover, but much bigger, more powerfull, thats what were going to Horsham in,so she,s probably filling it up.......well got to go,i will be in touch again, and i know i have friends here, always known that, and love you all for it.............Take Care..........Your Mush

Thanks Steve, I think your last posting may have 'turned the tide' but really I am not out to upset anyone, however I do sometimes get frustrated with the lack of fundamental understanding that goes on and sorry to say it but fundamental physics are rather 'my bag'. I will play it safe tonight and say that the weather in Barnet was absolutely gorgeous today. It is now 19:22 so I will watch TV, Corri in fact and try and become normal, I'm sure this aberration will not last, I certainly hope not as if my life was based on the characters of corri then I would have 'topped myself' long before joining AVreview. Hi Tamara, Here I go again playing catch-up Amy LaVere : Very unusual that....appalling singing ability - makes Bob Dylan sound musical - but characterful and I like it ! (Also, not to get the wrong idea, like Bob Dylan, and have some of his albums e.g. Slow Train?) She looks like Liv Tyler BTW ! (Probably no bad thing !)
"Soul of Angola" was not what I expected... very crisp clean dynamic electric guitar on the opening track......I can see this one becoming a cult special.... (Tarantino's probably using it already ) Best regards.................Bill.

Hi Bill, I agree she sounds quite slurred and mumbling. Listened to her on her My Space site. It's clearer...but she has got a Tenessee accent.....It's the drawl that makes it sound a little odd...even a little Dolly Parton. The music is crisper though!
Hi John, Good to have you back. I am sure you'll liven us all up again.
Thanks Tamara, I'm sure much of Dolly Parton's succes was more to do with her considerable assets than her real musical capability, such is the subliminal input to sound appreciation, unfortuanatly that same sublinable input seems to affect our concept of equipment and everything.. ie see the 'big tits' of Hi Fi and it must sound better, sorry guys but that is simply not true. It would be good to actually discuss some truths without personality issues getting in the way. I do have a theory that explains all the cable beliefs and all the perceived benefits, however it will not be popular. It does go against the grain in every direction but I still believe it to be true. John...

Hi John We can all be swayed by looks and kudos and association with the "right" name... it's life. Just accept that it happens.
Fine Tamara I do accept that it happens but lets get real and see why it happens rather than just accept it without question, may be I am trying to drill down to some deeper belief rather than simply accept things per say, I really do like to see truth!!! John...

Hi John, Perhaps what you believe is akin to this; A preacher is totally committed to his belief, cannot be swayed, believes in the existence of God and even tells of having experienced this phenomena and work in the world around him.......how does he convince others?
