Lets agree to disagree agreeably, in life there will always different oppinions. Lets say I wont convince you  and you won't convince me as we have had differening experiences of hi-fi.

Sorry mate, to dissagree agreeably is not in my remit, either I agree or I don't. No half and half, I will never agree to anything that I do not believe in. Sorry I do not believe in a mains cable. Enjoy the weather, not bad here either, but mains cables, get real!!!

Hi ALL,

Is it me or is it getting warm ? Dave Oliver, is this the opening for a new blind cable test !!!

Just a small point i would like to add to the conversation, has anyone asked if Stephen is using a mains conditioner? and has he cleaned up the connectors of his old mains cable, replaced them, then see if they then sound different? this i believe could be the change he is now getting - dirty contacts ? as with the RCA plugs - BUT what do i know ??????????? .......Carl.

Hello All, I bet the person who started this thread is regreting ever doing so it has opened a real large can of worms, do marsupials have golden ears I wonder. If anyone knows how to contact Rolf Harris to get his opinion of using good quality cables for his mains operated Digirio Doo, not sure of the correct spelling. I wonder what kind of cable Rolf use to tie his Kangraoo down sport, I am sure Stephen Nickalarse 2 should be able to tell us, there is a shop in Sydney somwher in Kings Cross that sells items made out of good quality mains cable to titilate the golden ears brigade.  Gerald

Would it be possible to use clothes washing conditioner to treat your mains cable and would it soften the sound and make it smell better, I am going to try Lenor which makes my washing sound so very good, I am upgrading to golden ears from silver ears in the near future. Gerald. Now completly sane and leaving the nut house tomorow.

Hello John Fisher have you thought of changing the mains lead of your refrigerator because it should keep your Special Brew much colder and improve the taste, and when listining to music would improve the sound out of all recognition but dont forget to use a mains conditioner maybe one from RA

Regards Gerald.

Hi guys,

As I said my original intention was to get some advice who have tried these power leads. I did not go on this forum for a debate and importantly guys not go down the line of getting personal - remember forum guidelines.

Thanks.

Steve.

Hi Stephen,

Quite right, hope you dont take replies to heart, these chaps would not want you to upset a new member? it is the prices on these cables that bring up heated conversations ? before you pay out all that cash. read my post above, cable firms are getting away with daylight robbery, and it is us that are being robbed, cleaning up your mains with a resonable priced conditioner would probebly give you better and cheaper result !    All the best .........Carl.

ATTENTION Dave Oliver.....I move that all of Geralds remarks relating to Stephen Nicholas on this Thread be deleted......

Bill mate, take it easy, this is only harmless fun, Gerald's character is a wind up, that's all. I often get drawn into that same windup.

Now when Stephen Nicholas comes up and suggests he can even hear a difference between two expensive mains leads, then sorry he is winding me up, I know I am not the most polite person on the planet. Gerald's and Fred's comments are really no more absurd than Steve's, think about it.

Tamara, wow you've done it again, put up a post that I have completely no comprehension of, please elucidate? I will try a new 'perception' of you but only after I hear a few more replies!

Carl - quite right, it is one of the greatest 'rip-offs' of our time, however I do think insurance is probably the nest biggest. Both rely on the same, and that is 'insecurity', we all want the best, we all want to quell those insecurities. I recently cancelled my 'home contents' insurance on the basis that over the years I had lived here, I had paid them more that twice the value of everything I own and had never made a claim, so if I put that same cash into a bank account will now allow me to effectively insure myself. And I wont even have to fill out a claim form!

Oh and another major rip off, the commission report!

Hi,

I thought I just respond just in case if there is any misunderstanding,

When I said about getting personal, when someone calls you Nicalarse and then talks about Kingscross, and other comments makeing fun of someone experience of HIfi comparing it to fairies, Jesus,  tyre pressure etc, I think it maybe is going a little to far. By the way i did'nt mind the convict stuff etc.

I don't mind humor as long as your respectful (actually i enjoy humor) and I don't mind at all if someone totally disagree with me that just makes it a more interesting discussion.

Thanks,

Steve.

Hi Steven,

Really pleased to hear from you....I'd have mentioned it earlier...so you must have a good sense of humour.....

Best wishes

Hi Tamara,

Thanks for the encouragement, yes us Aussies tend to like to joke. Have you tried various power leads or perhaps i better not ask just in case . Do you have a particular interest in hifi?

Most of my friends have gone over to surround sound, but i prefer 2 channel for serious listening, but I have both.

Have a good day to everyone and thanks to all the feedback from various people John, Bill etc.

I have been able to have a lend of a few power leads yesterday and compared them with an engineering friend. I also had a lend of a nordost blue heaven interconnect which I was impressed with. Anyway i stop waffling.

Regards,

Steve.

Hello Stephen are you related to Paul Nicholarse the Actor Singer we have here in England.

When did I say you were a Farie, and Jesus, surley those people would know that cables dont make any difference to sound. I dont know anything about your sexual oreintation, and what is wrong with talking about Kingscross it is after all a place in Sydney, did I say you visit that place??? Lots of the golden eared brigade need fun taking out of them because they talkd so much rubbish.

If you like humour here is one for you. I got some liquid Viagra the other day it did not help with sex problems but kept my buiscuits hard.

I can send you more jokes if you like it will be more interesting than all this rubbish talked about cables.

I put some high quality mains cable on my Lawn mower and strimmer and it was amazing how much better they cut the grass so maybe they do work.

Regards me old cobber. Gerald  your mate in  England

Hi Stephen, Tamara,

Like Tamara I too am pleased to see you back my friend...

Our manners at this end of the line seemed to have deserted us completely.

Frankly my reaction to Gerald's posts was first embarassment, then outrage, then anger. The MC is obviously enjoying a Summer break (incongruous for Britain I know ) otherwise Gerald's posts would have disappeared by now.

Best regards,

Bill.

Hi John.........................................................................................................Appreciate your valiant efforts as peacemaker. Your past acquaintance gives you an insight into Gerald's character, but I don't think my reaction was OTT. Gerald insults Steve's country of origin in great detail then descends to some fairly nasty personal insults.  As far as I'm concerned he should be shown the "red card" for this....................................To Steve's enormous credit he managed to remain polite and dignified throughout this shabby treatment...........................Nothing too cryptic about Tamara's post - simply an expression of common decency? I'm sure that given the circumstances she would have done the same for for you ?All the best,Bill.

Attention Dave Oliver.....I move that remarks like those by Bill Colbourne about me  should be deleted

At the same time, what has it got to do with him what I say about Steve Nicholarse I have not insulted him. why doesnt he mind his own business and stick to cables. And keep his knose out of my mains cables. I have not insulted anyone but if the people who think I have believe it then they are the ones with a problem.

Hi Stephen,

Judging by our TV commercials Ausises are a strange and yet fascinating breed.....with a proven humour now I've met you.

I don't have any allegiance to a system or cables.  I really think it's "subjective"..I have a whatever " works for you attitude" to Hifi - come to think of it that's generally to life....so long as it doesn't impinge on others rights.   SO "If it hears good do it!

Happy testing till it does!

I'm usually on the Music forum  "What Music Do You Like?" so if you'd like to let us know...we'd love to share....

All the best.

Bill you seem to read  insults into anything today is Friday is that insulting?, when did I insult Steves country of origin? and what were the personal insults? I hope you are not using that stupid games card system ie red card about me.

Now I do find all you have said most ofensive and insulting why dont you get a life and some new mains cables not shabby ones. Pity you dont have a sense of humour but  maybe you are from the USA they dont see anything funny. Gerald
