Stunning speakers, eh! Are they compatible to use with my computer?
Erm thats an interesting choice of photo, having earlier established that you're **not** a fish it now appears that you're actually a male bodybuilder!!
not so! but I'll need muscles for setting up all these speakers that I hope to win...
It will depend on wich computer you are using, and even more important, is your computer connected to an A/V direct or wireless and what your amp. can handle...
Lol, the muscles will come inhandy for the speakers but you'll need to do a bit of grafting for them - "We'll be giving them to this month's most helpful, humorous and downright informative contributor - so get writing, and you'll automatically be entered to win!!" - So to be in with a chance we'll have to be helpful, humourous AND informative....better start bombarding the forum then...

I could REALLY do with winning these, my speakers haven't been updated in about 12 years I have an old pair of Mission...I can't even remember whats! May the best man/woman win and all that.
Bit of an overkill attaching them to a computer! They were designed for a more serious job.
A more serious job in my front room!
They look a serious piece of kit ...have Tannoy M3's myself and happy with them even though they are old ...do not know how these compare to other speakers?
Listen you lot, none of you can win these. We have just moved into a new house and the missus made me sell my black B&W DM602's cos they upset the "ambience & fung shuey" of the main lounge. She says I can have these cos they would go well with the oak floor. So they're mine see.

Hi Ewan, rumours your going to be the next James Bond so you should have enough dosh to buy them yourself......hope your not shaken or stirred now :)
Martin
Wish I did have his dosh. Glad you resisted the Obi Wan Kenobi jokes cos I've heard em all.
i like these speakers, they would go well with my **alba** stereo. lol it was only £14 in the argos sale!! nothin like a decent pair o' speakers!
Hmmm I don't think even these speakers could do your £14 Alba justice, think more in region of speakers costing around £15,000. Each.
lol ye. probably im thinking of upgrading to a bose system as i think i deserve it!! a lifestyle 18 maybe....?
mi dads got a bose system. it sounds quite good. not the best though as it is only 2 speakers and a sub. a bit above average maybe!! music from my ipod sounds CRAP through the alba thing. r u surprised really??? through an auxiliary (i was surprised it had an auxiliary input as it goes!)

Paddy the Irishman...The Scotsman and the Englishman are sitting round the table having tea....so the Englishman says to his wife pass me over the sugar...SUGAR (sexily) then the Scotsman ...pass me over the honey ...HONEY (even more sexily) but Paddy's stomach is turning at this sentiment so he says to his wife....pass me over the bacon....ye old PIG
p.s. nothing to do with speakers at all but just for a laugh :) lol

but on a more serious note these are some set of speakers ...they make my Tannoys look like remolds compared to Michellins
look at the spec on these speakers woooooooowww :)
The ELS 303 utilises the Swift Tweeter and Lightning 130 midrange driver from the ELS 3 with improvements to the cross-over and midrange linearity. Epos has also developed a new 130mm woofer, based upon the same chassis as the Lightning 130 midrange. It can be differentiated by the round dust cap and lack of cone damping material used on the outside. The woofer is coupled to the rest of the speaker in a 2 ½ way fashion with a high linearity crossover which rolls off at 100Hz. This combines with the low frequency output of the midrange to give added power handling to the bass, while maintaining a very slim 150mm front baffle, which improves imaging at high frequencies. The cabinet has the same footprint as the ELS3 but the height is 87.5cms, including the plinth but not spikes. This brings the tweeter up to the optimum 81cms listening height to the user, when seated. The midrange section is not ported. The woofer section is braced and sealed off from the midrange section and is tuned with a port to 47Hz, which determines the lower cut-off frequency of 43Hz for the speaker. Because the ELS 303 is a tall and slim speaker, it needs to be stabilised to prevent it being accidentally knocked over. Epos has designed a PVC foiled MDF plinth, which is attached to the bottom of the cabinet with 6mm bolts. The plinth increases the footprint of the speaker to make it more stable. 6mm spikes are also supplied to help decouple unwanted energy from the cabinet/plinth, when in use, through to the floor. To enable the user to connect the bass driver separately from the midrange and tweeter, a gold plated bi-wiring terminal is used. Metal links join the upper and lower sections together and can be removed by the user to allow bi-wiring. # Power Handling: 200 Watts Max # Frequency Response: 48Hz - 20kHz # Impedance: 4 Ohms Nominal # Sensitivity: 87dB/1 watt/1 metre # Amplifier Compatibility: 50 - 200 Watt # Configuration: 2 1/2 Way # Finish: vinyl wrap # Weight: 10kg # Size W x H x D (mm): 850 x 175 x 195 # Price is per pair

Fair bit of cutting and pasting going on.
I know everyone hear could really do with these speakers, but Idon't even own a pair of speakers. It is only on the good grace of my girlfriend, that I can play anything at all. Surely I'm the most deserving??
Only problem for me is that I know next to nothing about equipment, apart from what litte I've heard and what I've read over the last twelve months where my interest has blossomed.
Surely those who know most, are most likely to have already purchased a decent pair of speakers for themselves. Leaving ignoramus' like me, at a severe disadvantage. It's so unfair I'm tempted to hold my breath until...........given up as I remembered I'm a thirty something grown man with work to do.
As they say before the national lottery, and as today will be the last day for amusing and informative contributions, good luck to everyone!

Are these speakers constructed using conservation friendly wood?
Actually, not bothered if they are or not....I do know they would be ideally suited to the room where I shall be putting them!
