I have a Sony VPL VW12HT LCD video projector (144 hours on the clock) that has developed a thin blue line down the screen. On close inspection it looks like a line of pixel's maybe down. Has anyone else had this problem and how did you deal with it, cheer's, Del.

This is very different from a blown/hot pixel. These things usually appear at random across the screen. This sounds like the processor is not reaching the LCD panel on this line. It's a dry solder joint (or it's flow-soldered equivalent).

It's a simple fix... get it repaired under warranty. If it's got 144 hours on the clock, you should box it up and send it back.

Thank's Alan, unfortunately it's about a year out of waranty. I did try last year ringing Sony several times, I did get through once after being on hold for about 20 minutes for whoever was on the other end to hang up the phone (customer service for you). Del.

I have the VPL-VW12HT with about 12oo hrs.  My picture is dark and I'm not able to brighten.  Unfortunately I know nothing about settings, and I'm hoping that someone would share settings that works for them.  Also, I'm woundering if it's time to replace the bulb.
