Does it exist as yet?!?! Basically what im after is something I can link my exising freeview box into to get 5.1 sound, a hdd dvd recorder + player along with its own built in freeview so i can record one channel and record another.

What im trying to acheive is fewer remotes! Any ideas?!

Sorry, no such thing exists. I doubt you'll see such a device, either. You can get DVD/HDD devices, Freeview boxes (possibly ones with HDD) and 5.1 receivers. But the chances of getting all in the same box is, er, remote.

There are several reasons for this, but the big one is licensing. The broadcasters consider devices like Sky+ as 'timeshifting' shows and certainly not for recording programming directly. To put a freeview decoder, a HDD and DVD-R in the same box crosses this divide - it allows you to permanently record TV programming seamlessly and this is not liked by broadcasters at all.
