Prices are close for both products, which is a better buy for hifi alone?

ATC scm12 although not made any more, has the full sl spec base unit with the 9 kilo magnet assembly. I have a pair and they sound great. To get the same unit now you need to go to the scm19 at £1500. I am sure the scm11 sounds good but the 6 inch sl woffer is legendary.

But you must bear in mind that the new SCM11s have a few new tricks/upgrades ie. new crossover, better tweeters with ATC waveguide, better cabinet construction, CLD tech for the cone (might not be as legendary as the SL spec bass-mid, but it's the integration that counts). Maybe it's just a bit hypd up, but the SCM11s seem to draw a very positive review especially from WHF mag....best stereo speakers for under 1 grand! :)

Any opinion if you've heard them side-by-side?
