I'm posting this again because I had my laptop pinched and I have been without a pc and never had the chance to follow it up - but the police have just recovered it!!!!!!!!!!! Wonders will never cease.... Anyway here goes.....I have spent enough money on hi fi to go around the world but I am still not entirely happy.

Musical Fidelity A3.2 Pre Amp, 2 x A3.2 Power Amps, A3.2 CD Player, Chord Chameleon Silver Plus Interconnects, Monitor Audio GR60's with Chord Odyssey 4 Bi Wire Cables.

How can I improve the sound (especially at the top end)?

My local hi fi shop says get a new rack. Some people say new mains cable or conditioner

I've heard of shops which will lend you a mains conditioner on trial (as they find them hard to sell without trialling them).

They say they make a big difference but few people believe them.

Do you know the guys in your local shop well?

Steve, im just trialling a £200 Chord clearway mains enhancer, its already "burnt in" but after 24 hrs so far, i cant hear any improvement!i have a Russ Andrews yello power cable on my rotel cdp, cant detect any improvement there either. I want to, i really do, cos like a lot of people im looking for a little tweak to up the ante a bit.You can buy multiblocks, they tend to be expensive or start with your cdp, if you hear a difference, get one for the amps, etc. Btw, with the Chord ,it plugs into the wall socket, and you then run a multiblock from there, supposedly even a cheap one, as it SHOULD have done its clean up act before that.
