CONECTIONS- Clean all conections then take you wife or sisters hair dryer and heat gently the conection end of each plug separately then push on to socket while still warm , making sure + to +, - to -

Er, not convinced this is going to make any effect at all.

Metal expands as it heats, but not to any great amount at these temperatures. A hair dryer (why not use your own hair dryer, or your brother's? Men have been known to indulge in hair care too) would need to be hot enough to burn through hair, scalp, flesh, bone and brain for it to make the phono plug more malleable.

Cleaning all the plugs from time to time is good audiophile form, especially if there's a smoker in the house and doubly so if the phono plugs and similar are tin plated - where oxidisation discolours the plugs. Whether this has a sonic implication is dubious, though.

Most of this cleaning can be done by plugging and unplugging the connection a few times, or by using a contact cleaning solution like isopropyl alcohol on the end of a Q-Tip. If you feel like being tweaky though, pay money for Kontak, Reson Licon or Russ Andrews Reveel.

The bullet plug is constructed of a type of plastic or bakerlite with a centre pin and an earth pin embeded into the recess of the outer plug. This gives the signal a more linear path avoiding the mass of metal that most RCA plugs are made of.
This type of plug is now used by cyrus and DNM reson.
Was initialy called Iechman plug which has been reviewed on this site and the member comented that he had dameged his plugs trying to force them on.
Thanx for the criticism - i thought i was giving some help to others that had wasted money -- yours carl.

It's a nightmare plug to solder. You've got a small target and you have to be really quick. I use WBT nextgen purely because they're easier to do a perfect solder and not because of their sonic benefits. The material of the plug is completely inappropriate.

At least the banana plugs are an easy solder.

hi Chris. I bought mine complete from audio exelence cyrus bullet interconect £90 its expensive for a bit of cable and four plugs - but it works. best sound from interconect ive heard. had this idea for plug back in the early 80s. - hifi mfs should have stuck to XLR plugs to link hifi as RCA phono plugs limit the signal purity due to the mass of metal ( Dont think they will change this some how.)

XLR is great. Easy to solder, they're solid and the plugs don't touch if the sockets are too close together. Very good sound. I was making some yesterday.

Had you thought about just buying DNM reson off the roll (about £7.50 a metre) and making the Cyrus interconnects yourself? I think it's about £27 for the plugs (unless you melt them!).

I thought VDH D102 111 was better than the DNM interconnects (the Cyrus is basically a slightly enhanced DNM reson interconnect).

Thanks for info Chris. what sort of build has the VDH D102 111 and who is supplier.
Thought about diy for bullet plugs but after looking at the gap of the pins and the plastic body i new there would be problems ( been there before ) Tried making my own plugs of this designe back early 80s - to small for my fingers.
