I have a Sony KDL-32U2000 and a Phillips DVD recorder.
I have as yet been unable to record any digital channel, unless I am actually watching this channel.I cannot watch analogue and record digital(If I try to switch to analogue whilst recoding I get message on screen and cannot switch to analogue if I want to continue recording).I cannot record digital when set on standby.Any ideas?

Presumably your dvd recorder does not contain a built in freeview tuner so you have to rely on the tv's tuner which must be tuned in and the tv switched on to that channel. You need a separate set top box to provide digital channel feed to your recorder.
