to me it's all a bit bling. happily have speakers without diamonds in them if they're gonna be lot cheaper.

OK, so no one here knows their butt from a hole in the ground.  If you're at all interested in audiophile equipment, you would know that B&W has a new process in which they construct their tweeter segments out of diamonds, as it is the hardest substance on the planet and in turn provides the ultimate platform for high-end frequency delivery.

I weep for the utter lack of knowledge on this post.  Why don't you guys go play with your Bose speakers, cause remember:  If it's got no highs and got no lows, it must be Bose.

BTW, it's bwspeakers.com.  If you can read, it'd be worth your time to check their product lines out.  Some of the best speakers on the planet.

Steve,

As far as knowing my butt from a hole in the ground, I've had 64 years to find out where it is and it has served me very well thank you.  As far as the technology concerning diamond tweeters, of course we can understand this being the hardest mineral.  As far as BMW speakers are concerned, they are not the only speaker company in the world that can make a decent speaker.  Can I draw your attention to people like Sonus Faber etc., which are far superior in build and quality to anything BMW can do.  While I acknowledge that BMW speakers are excellent, what we are trying to get to here is a light hearted  dig at the so called leading audio manufacturers.  I would imagine you are the sort of person that would go out and buy Nordost Odin speaker cables and interconnects.  If you wanted two metres of speaker cable at each end, then you would be quite happy to spend £50,000 because the reviewers tell you to.  The same applies to gimmicky equipment.  There you are Steve, I can read can't I?

Sorry for the mistake BMW should read B&W.  My secretary hasn't woken up yet.

I've heard of those BMW speakers, they're selling them on the QVC shopping channel and come with a nugget of cubic zerconia lodged in the tweater.

I must say I always enjoy a good put down, well done Mick.

Fair enough Jamie,BMW speakers!!!! whatever will i call them next!!!!

All the best Mick.

The best speakers, with diamonds, gold ,or whatever, are the ones YOU listen to,not look at. I agree Band W are very good speakers, ive had my 804s for over 5 years now and love the  sound

hmm is a chat room or what.

Good point Steve Zammar...it's only the mp3 generation talking here, there are more serious sites than this out there.

I think you’ve missed the point of this thread entirely, I also think you may have missed out on the subtle intonation that perhaps you’re not speaking to the MP3 generation here!  Good luck with your serious discussion boards and let us know how your B&W Diamonds work out for you.

They are not real diamonds in the B&W signatures, they are industrially manufactured,if they were; they would cost more than Elizebeth Taylors diamond necklaces and diamond rings twice over (this is fact and reality).

Mick.
