Desgin problem with CD player

Pure DTM-300 micro audio system
Pure is hoping to offer a stylish alternative to a full-sized audio system with the release of the DTM-300. It handles CD, MP3, DAB radio, FM with RDS, and CD-R/CD-RW playback, so there seems to be some versatility to match its aesthetic...

I thought I was happy with my DTM-300 since purchasing one three months ago, but just found out that it has a problem playing CD's with 'continuous' recordings. The problem is that the player puts a one second gap between tracks that shouldn't be there. This is awful when playing a CD where the music 'bridges' two tracks. Examples are Pink Floyd 'The Wall', 'Pros and Cons of Hitchhiking', 'War of the Worlds', some classical symphonies, etc. Pure Technical Support confirmed this is a design flaw rather than a faulty unit. Shame, as this spoils an otherwise good product.

Pure Technical Support confirmed this is a design flaw rather than a faulty unit.

This is inexcusable. CD is nothing new and this kind of bug should have been eliminated 15 years ago. In my view it renders the unit unfit for purpose and Pure should not be at all reluctant to arrange for a refund from the reseller, should you so desire.
