I have just had a three day Audition of the Advance Acoustic MCD203II CD Player, and i give you my advice which is to get one as fast as you can, before they see sense and price it at over £1000 as any European manufacturer would.

I am a self confessed Audiophile nut and without boasting, i have a very high quality system. This Reference system is very capable of quickly showing up a components weaknesses or strengths. The AA MCD203II played flawlessly through this system, and i truly believe that this CD player sounds better than anything I've heard, even up to £1000!!

The player does have a few minus points for some silly design errors which are, that the 'open/close' tray button needs to be repositioned as it is obstructed when the Tray is open making things a little awkward. The player will also 'Auto shut down' if not used for a while to protect the valves from being left idling without use for a long time. It  will then take another start up time of a a full 60 seconds, again due to the valves, and this will annoy all but the most forgiving of people. And finally, I would have liked to see the addition of a 'Display Off' button, as most Hi-end CD players feature this to minimise on interference during critical listening.

My conclusion is that if you are a true Audiophile enthusiast with a high quality system that can display this CD players Star quality then i urge you to audition this CD player. If you see a review saying anything other than that the sound of this CD player is simply outstanding for the price, you must then have your own mind, and again just simply audition it. It will not dissapoint.

I have not purchased any Advance Acoustic Equipment yet, however I will definitely be placing an order for one next month.

Hello there my fellow Audiophile friend. I purchased the Advance Acoustic MCD203II shortly after my first post about the CD Player on this website, and I have enjoyed many hours of happy listening with it. If you prefere a warm cosy sound then steer clear as this is definatly not the CD Player for you, however if you prefere a highly detailed brighter sound quality then look no further.

The player as I have mentioned in my first post, does have some annoying downfalls, however it rewards with the most gloriously highly informative sound. I consider it a bit of a rough diamond.

I purchased mine from the UK distributer 'Transparent Distribution' direct as they had no local dealer near to me, and the couple that run it 'Jacky and Tyrone'  were just amazing, so efficiant curtious and helpfull and I'm not just saying that. In fact my old man 'Frank' whom is well known by the couple, was so pleased with my MCD203II that he went out and purchased the full Advance Acoustic CD Transport/DAC system from them. This system raises the game to a whole new level but comes at premium, all be it a very competitive one when compared to the competition, as most are one box type at the price, and in true Advance Acoustic form it offers a performance that can compete easily at double the cost of what it retails for.

I sound like I should be working for them, but really it's just that i beleive these products represent outstanding value for money, even with their minor quirks, and truly give a taste of true high end sound for comparitivly little outlay. I strongly advise you to get in touch and arrange an audition, which would be of no loss to yourself, and I am confident that you will be pleasantly supprised.
