What's with your pro LCD bias on this site ?? Your recent 40-42 inch test rather laughably put a 1400 quid Samsung LCD in first place, conveniently omitting the Pioneer PDP428 Plasma (which would have wiped the floor with the Samsung for the same price) from the test altogether !?!

Now you are testing 4 even larger screens with no Plasmas even included !!! Surely you should be looking to provide an informed picture to the readers of this site, yet by continually plugging LCD technology you are in danger of misinforming people by omission. For pure picture quality on sports, movies and SD broadcasts, Plasma is still the superior technology. The only application you should be recommending LCD for is serious gamers, who don't represent the majority of TV users.

Hardly an LCD bias David, considering the percentage of LCD sales compared to plasma - we're just reflecting the interest in the technology. And we do test plasmas regularly:

Group test: 37in LCD and plasma TVs

Group test: 40-42in TVs

Head to head: Full HD 50in plasma

Don't worry, there'll be more.

Ultimately, which HD TV is best whether Plasma or LCD for 46" to 50"? I am looking for the best in terms of picture quality, durability and design.
