Here I sit at work with my first cup of coffee on a monday morning and I've a problem with what to do about my rear speakers.
I should expand a little: I'm running a Yamaha RXV3800, coupled to all the usual AV stuff, BD player, PS3, Xbox Elite, upscaling DVD, SkyHD, assorted mains cables, conditioners etc.
Speakers Monitor Audio. Fronts - GS10s, Centre - GSLCR, Sub - GSW12. Rears - R90s. Fronts are biamped (as in via the amp) using Chord Odyssey 4, the centre is biwired using the same.
The problem then is thus - it's not a vast cavenous room. The sofa runs along the back wall of the room and to the left the doorway in / out. So presently, and I know not ideal, are a pair of R90s very high up (one above the doorway on the left, the other equally high on the right. cabled with QED XT silver annivers'. They just sound a little out of of place. Hollow, a little lacking maybe... I hear the speaker rather than the sound if you will. Now I considered getting a pair of GSFXs for the rear, but these are huge and I don't think the positioning options open to me warrent the £1k price tag.
So dear forum member with a wealth of knowledge - give me some ideas, as I can't see the wood for the trees at the moment..
thanks
