Hi, I have problem to connect the Mission 78as active subwoofer to my Arcam 9C Pre-amplifier. I try to connect the interconnect cable from the preamp out of the Alpha 9c to the line in of the sub, but this connection produce a strange sound!Could anyone assist me?

2. I would like to place the subwoofer away from the amp (4 to 5 meter in length), what type of cable should I used. Currently, I using the Qed interconnect,(L, red and R, white). But for long connection, should I used two cable interconnect? Anyone have any suggestion for type of cable I should use?

I have done the same thing as you and my sub is about 4m away from my amp.
I have conected it with an RCA cable using only the red conector (sub out on avr1803 to red line in on Sub)as apparently the sub output is 1 channel only anyway.

Mior, do yourself a favour and buy a DECENT subwoofer cable. A 5m one can be found no prob's if you look online and improves your subwoofer response no end! The expense is worth it, believe me. Try

In case you wonder, the diference is the same as that between a standard RCA lead and a Coaxial digital lead; in other words, it's designed for the purpose of greater clarity
of sound reproduction between source (amplifier) and component (in this case your subwoofer). They work. Period.

Hi, thanks for the feedback. Anyway, I still have queries? My subwoofer have 2 RCA output (red & white) and it is same from my preamp output. My 78as sub have two 8" drive. I don't mind to spend in order to have good performance output. My question now is:

1) Do I have to buy 2 RCA to 2 RCA connection (4m to 5m length)?

2) Or I buy a single RCA and to split to 2 RCA splitter and both ends?

I've been reading the spec's for your subwoofer and from what you say, you need a good RCAx2 connector, as you suggest in #1. The ones I use, What Hi-Fi 5* rated, are the Puresonic 5050A which they make in 5m length. Cut & paste this:

Remember the price here is PLUS v.A.T. and plus delivery, BUT boy are they cheap and it's 2RCA - 2RCA. Connect straight from your 2 RCA outputs on your pre-amp to the sub's 2 RCA inputs and away you go.
As I said, these are good gables as voted by "What Hi-Fi" at £17 for 1m long; usually the 5m sells for about £30.
