I have just bought the Mission M35 floorstanders. I have literally been blown away buy their quality. Although having the longest break in time of any speakers I've ever known, the wait is well worth it. The speakers sound even better than they look, and that's saying something. Suited to AV explosions and club bass lines, yet equally at home with AV ambience and soft jazz.
After listening to so many speakers in this price range, I cannot think of a single set of speakers that can match them for quality.I think the closest I'v ever heard is the Mordaunt Short Ms908's.
Be interesting to hear other opinions of any better speakers below £500.
I also have the M35i's, but i'm not as thrilled, with av they sound fantastic, but with music, they lack timing, all the detail is there but it doesent gel, dont get me wrong it may be my system is not run in fully, i have the pioneer ax5i, denon 2910, mission m35 plus m3c2 centre cabling is all ioxs, qed an gold speaker cable, anyone else find the same?
I am in Canada and I am wondering if having the Mission M35i for a main and M33i for a rear along with a Mission center channel will work?? I also have my M33 filled with sand, is this the right thing to do? I am running these with a Denon AVR1907 @ 85w a channel. Please let me know.
I have recently purchased a pair of M35s from Global Hifi in Newcastle. They were reduced to £199 and were as new, hadnt even been played in. I have them connected to my Nad c350 amp hooked up with a nad cd player and my computer (mp3 collection).
They need playing in, but once done so, they are amazing, fabulous midrange and loads of bass. They also do not distort at higher volume levels at all. Really chuffed with them. Not to mention the cabinets are really attractive.
I live in Canada and am searching for a pair of floorstanding speakers to go in a 400 sq/ft dining/living area with a Yamaha RX-396 receiver (I will eventually upgrade) with 50W/ch. I will only have fronts and biwire them. I am looking at Mission M33i (159.95 pounds), Mission M34i (249.95 pounds), Q Accoustics 1030i (229.99 pounds), Wharfdale Diamond 9.4 (179.95 pounds), and Mordaunt-Short Carnival 6 (229.00 pounds) or Mordaunt-Short Avant 904i (279.00 pounds). Anyone have any ideas, advice, input concerning these speakers? I know it seems like alot to comment on but I am leaning towards the Wharfdale Diamond 9.4 because of the quality for the price. I am not into deep, heavy bass; I like a medium bass sound. I just need a little more info to push me to choose.
