Hello All!

Now i have a problem. Whenever i have a cocktail party/BBQ, I'm afraid that my crappy old walkman, plugged into £20 mini speakers, that kill the battery within 10 minutes , just do not cut it!

So what i'm looking for are some speakers, with long enough cables, or battery powered, to hook up to my Cd in my front room.

Ideas?

Haha those disguised rock speakers are fantastic Dave and as you say they sit on the fine line between tacky and cool.

Another alternative to these or having extra long cables is to buy a decent micro or mini system. These can be picked up cheaply anywhere and are really easy to pop into the garden when need be. The advantage of such a system is that when it's not being used for the garden it makes an excellent kitchen/bedroom/study second music solution. They also can offer surprisingly good sound quality even at fairly low prices and there are some stylish designs so it'd certainly look the part.
