Has everybody read this article? Very interesting stuff, however I am put off by the lack off ability to skip or fast forward tracks from the room you've streamed to. The article mentions this would be possible with a more sophisticated product so my question is does anybody know of such a device?

Wow I hadn't read that article and wasn't aware of such a technology. Obviously I'd heard of multi room systems but always thought they required extensive instalation or questionable quality wireless streaming, so to hear it can go through standard electrical wiring is great. I suppose like all the greatest ideas it's a simple one.

Unfortunately I don't know of any other products like this but like Euler I'd like to find out about alternatives so if anybody knows any?

There may be a way around that.

If you get your hands on an RF instead of an IR remote, it'll punch through your walls.

Or, quite impressively, I use my phone, which is connected to my WiFi network. I have control over iTunes on my Mac in the study - this is linked wirelessly to my HiFi in the lounge. Nifty. Although Airtunes drops from time to time which is rubbish, so this might be better.
