Finally they've got it: There's no use in building DVD recorders that come with analogue tuners only. Since DVD recorders are made to record digitally they should have an inbuilt digital tuner. Freeview reception is quite good in my area, so I've been waiting for this feature for quite a while. Will definately give the Sony a try. Can anyone recommend the recorder? What about the availiability in the UK?

Nathan, I think there is a review of that player in the member reviews section (if i remember rightly...) - Did you go ahead and buy it? Was it any good?

There is a major drawback to all Sony digital TV-related products and that is the absence of a repeat facility when setting the recording timers - either using the EPG or manually. I have a digital Freeview box on one TV and integrated Freeview in another TV. Yes, choosing to record programmes using the EPG is simple - but how about the next programme in the same series next week and the week after? There's no facility to set to record week after week (and no ability to extend the start and end time of programmes either). Even worse, these facilities are also absent from the manual tuning too. Even the cheapest VCR allows you do this. Very poor.

The only DVD recorder with Freeview combination that I can find is from Sony, Sony RDRGXD500. You can buy it from HiFiBitz at £329.99.
