Problem .

Sharp DV-HR 400H HDD-DVD Recorder
When recording to HDD i cannot watch a different programme to the one i am recording .Someone please help . The wifes going to harm me if i dont fix it. HEEEEELP

Ian, this could be a problem if you only have one freeview tuner. I experienced a similar difficulty when the the freeview tuner built into my Xelos Tv was not working. The freeview tuner in my Sony HDD recorder behaved in a similar way. The only way of overcoming this was to view anologue stations through the basic TV tuner which was still working. Now both built in freeview tuners are fine the problem no longer exists.

I have tried your suggestion and found that the recorder still changes to the programme that we are watching, i.e recording terrestrial - watch sky ,it will
change to sky ,and vice versa.i hope this makes sense, the wife says it doesnt,but shes the only one who uses the thing.

Have you a freeview tuner in your TV as well as the digibox? It's my understanding that you need two freeview tuners in order to watch a different channel to the one that you are recording. In my system there is one built into the TV and another in the HDD recorder.
