TEAC MC-DX10 Design Fault?
Fluctuating noise coming from speakers

Whenever I play a CD, a fluctuating noise can be heard through the NXT speakers and also the subwoofer which appears to be electrical interference from the CD drive motor. If the CD is stopped the noise goes away. Although the fluctuation is not that loud it is definitely noticeable on quiet tracks, at low volume and in the gaps between tracks. I have tried moving the unit, speakers and cables away from each other and away from the AC power cable but nothing I have tried has resolved the issue.

I have emailed the company but am still awaiting a reply back. I fear that this may be a design fault and that I will have to choice but to return the unit for a refund and find an alternative.

It would be useful to know if anyone else has experienced the same problem with this model.

Further to my previous posting, I took the system back to the shop at the weekend and was given an exchange. Not surprisingly, when I got home and set up the replacement system I found that it had exactly the same problem so the issue appears to be a generic electronics design fault with this particular model. Needless to say I will be taking the system back again at the weekend for a full refund.

I have also since discovered that someone else has found the same problem. See the following link for details...

Thanks for the tip Gary. I'm getting one of these systems to review for the site - it'll be interesting to see if I get the same problem.
