Show/hide user stats
hi andrew, can you explain the problem a bit more fully? what other equipment have you got hooked up?
Show/hide user stats
I bought this panasonic dvd player nick because it had a hard drive and freeview built in.Now i wasnt too bothered about the freeview cos i dont have an anologue ariel.I have it hooked up to my virgin digibox and my hitachi widescreen. When iv gone onto setup to try and tune the dvd player into (what i thought you could do, individual stations on my virginbox)its saying no digital stations found.

Andrew, Sorry I cannot help , but I am in the same position, if you get an answer please let me know, very frustrating in this day & age, but I have been told you need to tune in via normal anologue ariel which I no longer have. GOOD LUCK

Cheers

I am also having the same problem of trying to record a digital channel. I have a Hitachi C28WD2TN wide screen TV, a Grundig GDT 1500T Digital box and have just bought a Toshiba D-VR35SB DVD recorder & VCR. I can record the terrestial channels but not the Digital Channels can anyone help?

Hi all, i have a samsung 32" with integrated digital and sky, basically, sky (or any set top box) will only transmit one signal to your dvd recorder, which is the channel it is set at via a scart, your dvd then sends the signal to your tv, but when it comes to recording a from the tv you have two options, select the analogue station on your dvd or set the channel on the tv, the problem with the latter is you cant watch anything else. with integrated digital in my tv i can set sky to whatever channel and set my dvd to record it from a scart connection, and watch a freeview channel on my tv, but the dvd wont record a freeview broadcast becuase the tv can only send the signal it is receiving at that time. the only way around it is get a dvd recorder with built in freeview so you can bypass the tv all together, this would improve picture quality on playback also

Hi all,
If I were to purchase this model (or even the Panasonic DMR EX87) are you saying that I can't record from a sky top box? I have no digital or analogue ariels linked up.

Hello.

I have just bought a sony 40" LCD HD ready TV, all works fine except with my surround sound DVD player which is a sony HCD S550 S video system, it functions OK but the picture is in black & white, the DVD has no scart plug on but a round plug with a horseshoe configuration of pins & I have a sony lead which connects from this to the scart on the TV, the DVD is about 4 years old & worked perfectly well on my last sony TV ( which wasn't digital)

Can anybody help please

Trevor M

Steve --yes you can but use rgb scart from sky to player input then scart from player to tv.

Trevor --look at set up manual look for s video set up it should tell you to plug s vid dvd - to -tv - s video - by connecting it to another connection to change to scart it may not be connecting all the s video output pins.   use a single svideo cable to svideo on tv.        carl.

Hi All.

Please please put your TV/DVD and all manuals in a rack in your bathroom - this is the only place that you can digest the information without getting it wrong by distractions, laugh all you want? but by reading this thread it goes to show that you are not digesting a bit of the information on the manuals - sorry if i have upset anyone   - and i know that when you've got the new bit of kit home you rush to set it all up - but if you are not set up savvy ? read the book!!!! - then come back if you have problems that you need help on -  Cheers...Carl.

Hello all,Ive got a DVD recorder and set top box and have no problems, mine is connected thus.I have a Scart switching box,DVD recorder is set with all connections ; aerial in scart out, scart out is sent to the switching box.Aerial out out is sent to the freeview box, scart out from freeview box is sent to the switching box,HD DVD PLAYER is sent via scart to the DVDrecorders input scart which on Panasonics is situated just below the scart output,so basically its line in line out for everything, though if youre using your HD DVDplayer the DVDrecorder neds to be switched off,i know it sounds complicated but it works................take care..........Dave
