Looking at a STRDA1200es or a Onkyo TX-SD 506 to go with Mourdunt short 914i fronts 905i centre and 903i rears.  Or is it worth putting the extra and getting the 606?

If you can afford the 606 this will give you HDMI vision and sound plus the new sound spec of HIDEF DTS, DOLBY HIDEF, with blu ray players, well worth the wait, if you can??

Agree with Carl - go the extra mile and get HD decoders for future purchases such as a Blu-Ray player

Also look at the amount of HDMI inputs on any amp you buy. I would say 3 inputs at a minimum

Also worth considering is the Pioneer VSX-1018 to be released in the next few weeks

 I would wait a few weeks for them all to be released and watch for reviews here and other places. See if you can demo these new amps locally with speakers.
