Stirring the pot hey fred.

I think a couple of people are starting to cross some lines on this forum.

Have a good day.

Bye for now.

From the land downunder.

Steve.

Hi all ,

Just an observation , the reason Fred and John wont even try a mains cable is exactly the same reason cable believers won't take a blind listening test, ie, they are afraid that their preconceptions may be shattered which is not a nice feeling , so it is generally avoided !

Not taking sides,    Electro.

Not really Steve, only a little harmless banter, no language worse than I hear on TV every night. John...

Not so. I won't waste time on time and money wasting frippery like mains cables but I do experiment with speaker cable that does make a difference. I'm willing to experiment with anything that can have an effect.

Fred,

Think about it , is that not exactly what a mains cable believer would say when asked to take a blind listening test? something like,         " I don't need to waste my time taking part in a blind test because I already know mains cables sound different  I can hear it".        sound familiar ?.

If someone gave me a mains lead I might test it if I was in a good mood.

For maximum psychological pseudoscientific foo appeal. I understand. I won't forget that bad ole EMI has to be exorcised from the mind.

I've heard that painting your front door blue can improve the sound, don't knock it until you've tried it, it can be done for only a few quid so why don't you try it.

You may wonder what I'm on about here, but trust me, it is as relevant as changing a mains lead. Do I need to spell it out in big letters A MAINS LEAD HAS NO PART IN THE SONIC EXPERIANCE AT ALL if you think otherwise then you are mistaken, no ifs or buts but simply mistaken, the truth is sometimes hard to accept even though it is the truth, I wonder how many still believe the events of 911 were a terrorist attack, is that true? How many believe valve amps to have some magical musical property, is that true? How many believe a speaker cable to have sound enhancing properties, is that true?

I really do wonder, how many believe that going to work forty hours a week simply to survive is right, is that true, will a better cable boil your kettle hotter, NO, NO, NO none of it is true, unfortunately the truth is not presented on a plate, it has to be found, sort after, discovered. What you find may shatter your long held beliefs in life but you will become all the better for knowing them, unfortunately though most around you will regard you as a nutter, friends may think that you have 'lost the plot', the truth is one of the hardest routes to take as it goes against the grain of many peoples thinking, it creates disagreements on a monumental scale, I hope that you do not find it as hard as I have... John...
