Hello All,Hi John, great to hear from you, been a long time, agree entirely with you mate about mains conditioners, and fancy cables, recently upgraded my pre and power from the Krell KAV250P-KA100M monoblocs to the Krell Evolution 202-900monoblocs and no ammount of conditioning cabling can improve the sound of these amps, but thats only my opinion, dare say a few will disagree, and may even call me names, but i always say the same thing, who really gives a f...k,i want to listen to the music, not debate about cables,or conditioners, but the "crack" is good, keep it up...............Dave

Arthur calls me a 'nut case', but I cant say hes a 'know it all smart ar*e' (Who actually knows nothing)???

Arthur didn't call you a nut case.

Look Fred ~

If you 'get off' on all this thats entirely upto you (SAD, but still entirely upto you)

But "You buy the homeopathic remedy and it works in your mind", is a personal stab at me

Hey George~  suddenly you're a sensitive little soul. How about a truce?

I think she's a bit overrated. Jeff Buckley is overrated for the same reason.

I thought Krell amps had conditioning units built in?

My dad as a musical fidelity amp worth 5k, and the mains cables DID make a difference to it (Even my mum could tell the difference and that IS saying something)...........

It doesn't matter, just as long as you believe they do when you listen to them.

Without the mains connected it would have been a bit quiet. Were they a pretty colour?

Arthur,

OH Please just stop it or teacher will make you go and stand in the corner ,  I had hopes you would stop being silly, you must be related to  Fred Scuttle, your just provoking Rik so that he looses his temper and gets into trouble , if you carry on you will have to go to the office and report to Mr Oliver, so just sit down and behave yourself !

As a punishment you will write out five hundred lines saying ,    I believe Mains products do work .

Hello All,Hi Rik,i thought all "high end " amps had mains conditioners built in to their transformers,i,m not sure on this point, but when somthing sounds this good,i dont really care.Ive been told that the weak link in my system is the Sugden CD21SE,and that i should be looking at a Krell,or Electro,s favourite, the Electroacompianet, but i,m not too sure which to go for,and with xmas rearing its head again, dont fancy auditioning CD players,so i,ll leave it till next year, guess i can put up with the Sug till then...............Take Care All..........Dave

Hi Electro

Are you saying that mains products require belief to work?

Hi Dave

Even on the most basic amplifier any RFI present isn't going to make it through the mains filter cap, then the transformer and then the caps on the diodes that prevent switching RFI, through all the smoothing and additional RF suppression caps and into the signal, because if it did the thing would buzz, crackle and pop all the time and either nobody would buy it or every one sold would be returned. A surge limiter is advisable but that is all. Anything with a switch mode power supply would be a no hoper if RFI really affected sound quality.

Arthur,

No I was trying to think of a sentence that might be painful for you to repeat, it was not a statement of fact or fiction.
