i've got a panasonic th-37px80b t.v. and i'm intending to add ps3 and sky HD+. I want better sound but don't want all the wires that come with having surround sound speaker setups.Any solutions and advice on what to buy please without rear speakers

Hi Adrun,

Have you thought about wireless speakers  See  These    or   This  Or if you want to stick to 2 channel  just buy a good quality stereo integrated amplifier and a pair of speakers and connect it to the audio out on your TV.

Hope this gives you something to think about Electro.

What are soundbar's like for surroud sound quality?Are they value for money or are they regarded as a bit gimmicky?

As long as you pay a bit for them, theyre pretty good. (not MY thing though)
