So Steve Jobs reckons he'd choose the Apple Hi-Fi over a real one? Don't make me laugh! I've heard one and didn't think much of it - convenient maybe, but no great shakes for sound. I'm intrigued by the Jamo now though - what sort of connections has it got?
The connections are a pretty basic affair Martin. These docks are designed specifically for iPod integration so all you'll find round the back of the Jamo is the speaker ports, the ac adapter port, a port to connect the dock and an Auxilary in case you want to connect a (gasp)non iPod mp3 player or indeed anything else (laptop, discman, minidisc etc).
You could just connect your iPod to any old hi-fi via the iPod's headphones socket using a 3.5mm jack lead. Ok so you don't get remote control and the ability to charge your iPod like these docks do, but you'll be saving a lot of money.
When you hear the sound from the Jamo you will want to get rid of your hifi system - the sound is outstanding and you can use it as a surround sound system too.
