Our Bauer XT32 also went bang on 18.12.08 and we got ours from Tesco. I contacted Tesco as I wasnt happy having paid out £500 for it to last less than 2 years and they told me to ring Tesco head office, which I did. They sent me an out of warranty claim form. I sent them proof of purchase, i.e. a bank statement with the transaction on and have just received a cheque off Tesco for the full value of the TV £499.99.

I've an XT26 which was working absolutely fine upto today, now I've just got a 'scrambled' picture (well not really a picture, just colours & lines). Still powering up ok but whatever I plug into it theres no response. Any ideas?

Hi All, Got one of these today and I have a problem. I change the screen resolution from '4:3' to 'normal' which is fine but when I turn the TV off and back on it defaults back to 4:3 and I can't save the setting to default to 'normal'. Can anyone help or tell me where I can download a user manual? Regards, Matt.

It is an all too common problem with the Bauer 32" TVs. My advice would be to take your case(s) to small claims court.
When you purchase a television (or any other electronic device) you are entitled in law to expect it to last a reasonable amount of time - typically a few years, four or five perhaps. The company who supplied the device are responsible for supplying faulty goods, regardless of whether or not they manufactured the device. They must provide a refund or replacement under the Sale of Goods Act 1979 (as amended by The Sale and Supply of Goods Act 1994 and The Sale and Supply of Goods to Consumers Regulations 2002).
Please don't sit around wondering why your TV is no more - get on to your local trading standards / consumer advice office and get the ball rolling.

our bauer went bang last night.fell asleep on setee and the bang woke me up. 2 years old. tv repair man said circuit board thing fried in two different places which is unusal,they normally fry in one place.

Hi everyone. I posted last month that my Bauer TV blew up after 19months use. A lady on here told me to contact Tesco and get an out of warranty claim form as she had got her full money refunded. I was a bit sceptical but I sent a complaint letter and they have now refunded my money. If anyone wants the address then please contact me.

Hi There, I have had a bauer 32" for about a year now, mainly to play my 360 on through the HD. My problem is any other console i play through the TV without HD there appears to be a negative of the image displayed just to the right of it. There is also a 1 inch thick line constantly just to the left of centre of the screen. If this was a CRT TV it looks like it would be a fine tuning issue. This problem appears with both scarts, AV and the through the analogue arial Can anyone help?? Many thanks

iv had my bauer 42 for 11 days and its now useless... there is still power going to the tv (the red light is on) but the remote wont turn it on the tv controlls on the side wont turn it on thankfully its insured so waiting for a new one now. advice for any-one wanting a new tv DO NOT BUY BAUER there crap! im seriously thinking of telling them that i want money back and a different make altogether,

I've had my Bauer 32 for over 3 yrs. Sound crap and line down centre of screen lighter on one side than other. Book said it should have 13 amp fuse; after hearing of two serious TV-caused fires (not Bauer) I immediately downrated it to 3amp and shared my anxiety about overfusing with Tesco tech support who told me that it could invalidate warranty!!! Wish I'd read this site before I bought the dog! I think I'm too late to take it back now. Will never buy anything technical from Tesco again without checking on intenet.

my bauer xt 32 also caught fire. have now purchases a new board from china for £34. i have the old board if anyone would like to buy and reapair. i also have a new panel for the same tv panel no. t315xw01 v.5 which was sent new to me. this was the wrong panel i needed nut was out of my returns time. this cost me £60 so open to offers if anyone would like it. this is the main output board with all usb and phono connections. it has never been use. mail me if you would like the company who suppy these boards cheap. e mail darren.coopland@tesco.net
