carbon has the dock and amp in one unit, the 252 has the units separate, no other differences. Try Monitor Audio Bronze speakers, they sound really good with the FatMan.

There is a world of difference.  The 252 is a serious audiophile valve amplifier selling for around £650 whereas the itube Carbon sells for about £299 and has far less power and current delivery.

Please excuse my previous post, this was a mistake, don't know why I posted this! I think I read the post as the difference between the iTube valve dock and the carbon edition!

Details of the 252 can be found here >> http://www.fat-man.co.uk/docs/product_07/iTube_252_with_ValveDock.shtml

 Carbon edition here >> http://www.fat-man.co.uk/docs/product_07/iTube_252_with_ValveDock.shtml

I'll second that about the Audio bronze speakers - they're awesome for the price, especially if you put them on some good stands and biwire them...

Got the Itube 252 driving Paradigm Monitor 9 speakers: great sound; sometimes bit heavy on bass but this might be to do with the Idock, will connect cd player on the amp next week and see what flat sound will do with it.

I have a Itube 252 with a rega saturn CD deck and im running a pair of B&W 684's the whole pacage is somewhat breath taking the clarety of sound and the real sence that the music is live is amaizing and im hearing things on my cd's that i have never heard before dont get me wrong there is plenty out there that would beat the pants off it but im not prepared to pay the kind of money to achieve it at the best part of three grand i think enough is enough. \the B&W 684's are around the £800 mark and are floor standing so if your lookng for something a little cheaper or smller then i would also highly recomend the 685's they are a stand or bookshelf speaker but suprisingly deep so i would stand mounth them to be honest they also have the same tone as the larger 684's but at a snippet of the cost. Prices are around the £379 mark i believe, much more afordable i'm sure you would agree.
