I need some advice please. Yesterday I bought a new Blu Ray player, a Sony BDP-S350 from Currys. It was a real bargain at £99.99. Anyway, I got it home and connected it up via jack leads to my Panasonic Home Theatre Sound System SC-HT840. I am sure I set it up correctly but the sound from the Blu Ray is only in 2 channel stereo. Is there a compatabilty issue here or has muggings set it up incorrectly? Any help will be much appreciated.

 Cheers

 Kevin

Hi Kevin,

via jack leads ?? your DVD player should be connected via digital coaxial, or optical toslink to get 5.1 etc:,   ...Carl.

Hi Kevin.

Seems your combo, amp/dvd player, has not got a digital input only stereo ? so you will not be able to get surround sound from any add on source ? only 5.1 from the inbuilt dvd ! sorry !.   ...Carl.
