Bonjour!

I have a 2 yr old Samsung 32" LCD with (sadly) only one HDMI connection...can you recommend a decent HDMI switchbox so I can plug in my Xbox,Wii, DVD player & BT box?

Much appreciated!

Cheers for your help in advance

Hey,

did you have a look on amazon? They have plenty of them and they are not that expensive as well. I would recommend this one with 4 ports.

I hope it helps.

Try this one: Oppo HDMI Switch it's had some good reviews over here in Canada and should now be available in the UK.

Correct me if I am wrong but the Wii does not support HDMI

You have two choices, carry on feeding the Wii into your component input on your LCD - assuming that you have one, or spend a reasonable amount of money buying a switcher scaler such as the Kramer VP-437 http://www.kramerelectronics.co.uk/indexes/item.asp?name=VP-437.  This will allow you to integrate several different signal types, switch between them, and output to a single HDMI.

Guys!

Big trauma! I followed the advice and purchased the 'Ex-Pro ultra for Samsung TV 4 port HDMi switch box' (from Amazon) and a couple of QED HDMI cables...easy to install but the sound is running mute on my 'Cambridge Audio DVD 86' player...the TV sound works great with the BT vision box, the cables have been checked.....but for some reason there is no sound via the DVD player.....to make it even stranger there WAS audio for the first time the connection was made...since then nothing.....any ideas? Have tried all the different cables and tried the different ports on the switch box. Even rechecked that the DVD player works with sound when just connected to the TV

PLEASE HELP! It is most frustrating.....

My TV is a 2 year old 32" Samsung LCD TV.

Your help is most appreciated

Did you check that it is not a faulty cable? This happened to me.

The cable in question gave me intermittent sound outs and video outs too. Not necessarily both at the same time - but that too happened on a few occasions. Your problem sounds very similar.

I eventually traced the fault to the HDMI cable that came with my PS3. I bought another, made by Philips incidentally, and the problem has never come back.

Cheapie hdmi switch boxes have been known to degrade the quality slightly
