Having recently had my house re-wired I took advantage of having a separate electrical feed installed for my lounge(six double sockets inline!!).In doing so I thought it would be a good idea to start from scratch setting up my home cinema and hi-fi systems. From recent perusal of AV websites I think it would be an advantage to purchase a Test Disc (CD/DVD) in order to optimise the whole setup. Can anybody recommend such an item, or is it just something our good friends across the Atlantic only dabble in,any advice would be much appreciated.Yours Trev S-J

Hi Stewart ,as you can see from my post ,that was a long time ago,but if the old brain cells are up to it ,I think I got it from the online music dealer "CD Wow "In fact I`ve just done a search on their website and it seems that they have it in stock (price for the Pal version,£12.80 inc.free delivery )
This is the link for you:-

Hi Ryan, in easy terms to somebody new to home cinema(not that I am any expert in the this field, just an enthusiast!!),a test disc helps you set up your audio and visual side of the home cinema. The DVD disc that I have can help you set up your surround sound correctly so that the signal that you hear coming from your front left/center/front right/rear left/rear right/subwoofer/speakers actually comes from the correct position in your room.
Again, the disc will also help to set up your television picture i.e.:-contrast/brightness/colour and for the more adept enthusiast, calibration and test signals to perfect the tv image to it`s optimum.I am sure there are many more experienced contributors on these forums who will be able to help you with regards info in setting up your home cinema, but, I think this DVD is worth £12.80 of anybody`s money,(experienced or novice!!)Hope this helps.
