My 15 year old Technics system has finally bitten the dust today, which to be honest is quite saddening as its been a faithful companion over the years. Anyway im so out of touch with the HI-FI scene its untrue. If you could look at the following list of requirements and possibly point me in the right direction that would be fantastic. This is what i would require.
1. A system rather than separates
2. CD player with the ability to attach my
MP3 player.
3. Radio + DAB
4. Cost: All considered but sound quality
overides cost as its going to have to
last me another decade !.

Any help much appreciated.
Regards
Tim Sparling

Tim hi
Look at cambridge audio, you wont buy better for the money, ritcher sounds are the distributors for this make and have won 5stars in most mags. hope this helps

Looking for a one box solution, the Arcam Solo might do the trick.

Cost £1000 plus speakers and speaker cable. The buttons aren't brilliant for the money, but I've briefly listened and liked the sound it produced.

A number of mags have been positive about it, but not necessarily about the accompanying speakers costing a few hundred more.

Is that the sort of thing you were looking for?

If it hasn't got MP3 player connectivity, you could also buy the Apple Airport express for about £90 to play stuff from your hard drive on your system!

if your on a budget give the Yamaha CRXM170 a listen, looks nice too with piano black speakers.
Check out Richer Sounds, Cambridge Azur amp / Cd player + Mordant Short 902i, Cambridge DAB500 tuner also available,
seperates but good budget option.
