Really interested in the potential of the slingbox but I read in an article in the today's Guardian technology section saying it's really poor at displaying sports broadcasts. Apparently it can't process images fast enough to make football, tennis etc properly watchable.
John, did you come across any problems relating to this during the review?
A new comer to the space is the HAVA Wireless. While the product is brand new it has a host of features that Sony's LFX and Slingbox simply don't have. Here's a review of the HAVA: http://www.dvrplayground.com/article/13670/
By the way, Slingbox now really is starting to support Macs: http://www.slingcommunity.com/article/15975/
Perhaps I am miss understanding something but I just bought a slingbox and found that it actually does nothing at all, I mean nothing at all it is just an ugly box!! unless you have your sky receiver and broadband connection right next to each other. Who the person is that has both of these things in the same place IIcan't imagine. (one in a hundred perhaps) So you then need go out and buy a Sling Link to make the connection through your home wiing or a wireless bridge. Either way your just doubled the cost of the Sling Box in order to be able to use it?
I have bought the Location Free unit but I understand that it has a wireless bridge built in so you have no additional costs and don't have to have yet another box setting around to clutter things up and go wrong.
I would appreciate any comment/confirmation/corrections??
