2 films that ive recorded, and watched from the hdd have suddenly decided to "lose" audio, none whatso ever, records ok since, anyone else had a similar problem? even toshs helpline are baffled, one suggestion ws that the scart cable might not be connected properly, so the audio pins didnt make contact..cant be that, cos there was audio there before, so where has it gone to????
I had a similar problem with my Sky+ box when I tried to record some of it to VHS. It appeared to be Scart-related since I got round it by using the alternative Scart socket on my VCR. Still haven't had a satisfactory answer as to why this should be so though...
Thanks for that Dave, but what i cant get my head around is the fact that the audio was there previously, is that the same scenario as yours?pinsnot connecting in the first place with no audio at all i can comprehend, but for it to just disappear.........well........baffling!
I was on the phone to Sky for about an hour, during which they told me that some components have compatibility issues with some makes of their boxes. I tried just about every possible combination of link-up using various Scart cables before discovering by accident that by flicking the TV/video button (with a symbol that looks like a square with an arrow through it) offered me two alternatives - one with sound and one without. Sky weren't sure exactly why this should be so, but seemed to think it was to do with this glitch in compatibility. I've just realised though that your problem is solely to do with your hard drive recorder which is nothing like my problem (though I'm glad to get it off my chest). It doesn't sound like a weak link either since you've already watched the recorded version with sound. I'll ask around and see what I can find out.
