My first post on here guys. I am upgrading kit in my basement theatre / boys room and I am looking to replace my 5 year old 40 inch Panasonic plasma. I am going to hook it up to my new Onkyo TX -SR 805 and have recently added a Onkyo DVSP405 DVD player. I fancy adding a PS3 for the games and playing blu ray but cannot decide on which screen to buy!

Whilst the Samsung will give full 1080p most reviews rave about the Pioneer's picture quality.

Question if fed a 1080p signal will the Pioneer reduce the picture size?

Any pros and cons or advice would be appreciated 

I this case I doubt it. However if you want full HD have a look at the Pioneer 508 LX (not XD). Very expensive but tops even the XD for quality.
