Sub Woofer cable setup
Which is best?

I am looking for some advice, please.......

I have a Pioneer AV Receiver and the Mission FS-2 speaker package with Sub woofer.  The guys who came out and set it up originally, set up so that all the speaker cables run from the AV receiver to the sub woofer and then the speaker cables run from the sub woofer to the individual speakers.

Is this really necessary?  Can it be set up so that the speakers are connected directly to the AV receiver and connect the sub in the same way?  This way there would be less speaker cable used, thus making it tidier behind the TV, and most importantly, keeps the missus' happy!!  Are there and advantages/ disadvantages with either method?  Also is there any sound quality issues with either method?

 Many Thanks in advance

 Jon

Hi, I have a pioneer AV Amp(2016 avr) and I have set it up with the speaker cables from speaker to AV Amp speaker posts and I have connected the Sub woofer by cable to the AV Amp as well.  It works a treat.  Unless you get a reply from someone who is an expert to the contrary I would use my method which was confirmed as ok by my Hi Fi shop.  I will await any reply with interest as well.  Just another point,if you havent done so already, I spoke to Pioneer about the speaker connections as I wasnt happy with bare wire connections and they told me on my Amp if I took out the small plastic inserts very carefully with a small knife/srewdriver head I could use proper Bannana connections and thats what I am using.  Alan
