Does anyone know if you still need to be able to receive a freeview signal to set up the box? I tried a year ago to use this service but could not as I am not in an area that receives a digital signal. BT could not tell me if this is still the case.

Had a word with BT and they reckon that yes, you do need a Freeview signal, and that they should check before you buy one.

But then they changed their minds, and sent us this:

 "No, you don't need to be able to get Freeview to self-install.  None of the freeview channels will work, nor the programme guide or PVR, but you will be able to access and consume the 'on demand' content."

I had my BT Vision working without Freeview for a while but it made the whole system a bit pointless and clunky to use. I does work though.

Thinking of buying a BT Vision. My question is will I be able to record a SKY program onto it
