Well then, by all means...... switch exclusively to Blu-ray. It advances the logical step to a superior format and squeezes out HD DVD from creating another generation of VHS (Betamax = best quality, VHS = so-so quality).

The first generation machines (made by Sony) were both huge and the picture quality was poor compared with the first JVCs. It was a clincher for the large UK rental market and VHS never looked like losing the format war after that. Poor Betamax reliability didn't help much either.
