I am looking to buy a hi-fi system and speakers.
The home theater professional person who I was thinking of buying the stuff from, told me Stereo speakers are very different from Home Cinema speakers.
Home theater should produce power and bass and most THX speakers do just that. But they fall short when trying to make the subtle sounds and speed of respond to changes like you might find in a Mozart Sonata.
Thus it is difficult to have both a home theater and hi-fi system in one room - especially without the right room dynamics. A good comprise for both home theater and hi-fi speakers are Artcoustic
I have not seen any reviews on these speakers but they cost a hell of a lot. I like that they can be built into the walls and that they are discrete (keeps the wife happy). But they cost a hell of a lot - again. I was thinking of Teufel System 5 THX speakers for my living room, but the bloke told me I would certainly notice a huge difference between artcoustic and other Hi-fi stereo speakers (like Name, Meridian) and those made for a home cinema - especially when listening to music.
Is this true?
What are good alternatives to artcoustic speakers in terms of sound and ability to hide in the walls.
