Projector bulbs have a limited life span and are expensive to replace.

Also the projector is undeniably more difficult and time consuming to install if you plan to ceiling mount it?

50" plasmas offer a better picture, but LCDs are catching up and generally consume less power.

I'd recommend a visit to the nearest showroom just to check out the competition.

I have a projector and a 55 inch Sony SXRD tv. Allthough the TV has a better picture, the scale of the projector (110 Inch) is more impressive.
