I like the idea of the Q Acoustics Q-AV system. When you adjust the width to match that of the tv, does this allow you to move the front two speakers apart for better stereo separation?

Yes, you can. The basic idea is that you can pull them apart or together so they align snuggly with your V, but I think you can pull them out further if you like. I don't believe they'll go any further than the width of a 52in screen though.
