Where did you get the info that the buffalo tech lt-h90lan supports xvid and divx? This is not in the press release nor on any other websites.

If it does not support xvid and divx they have really limited the potential sales of this unit. I currently have their media player with the dvd drive an like it in a wired network, however having 500+ xvid videos, I would not upgrade.

Hi Matt
Thanks for the posting regarding the LT-H90LAN. The news story actually states it supports only Xvid rather than DivX aswell. I have checked this morning with the press department for Buffalo Tech and they have confirmed it does indeed support this format, despite the fact that it is not listed on the product's technical specs of the company's own website (why this is omitted I have no idea).
Therefore, your 500+ Xvid videos will be compatible with the H90LAN if you do wish to upgrade.

Hope it helps.

Thank you for the reply, I am glad they have not completely ignored these formats. Looks like I will have to convert my Divx to Xvid. Gonna take some time!

I have the PC-P3LWG/DVD and it had great potential, however they did not support it as it should have been. It only works well on a wired network and playing music is a joke, as you cannot setup playlists. However on a wired network as I have setup it is a fantastic piece of equipment. I just hope they do this new version correctly.

By the way, Buffalo should correct the specs as soon as possible, as the word is out on many newgroups in the U.S. that it does not support any formats other then the ones listed. The customer service group in the U.S. (as of 4 April) is not even aware that the product is being released in the States.

Thanks again

Matt P
