I have a pair of B&W 601 S2 speakers and was hoping to get the Marantz PM7200 amplifier and also get the Marantz CD5400 or CD5400ose cd Player- is it a good combination? which Cd player should i go for, the normal or OSE version of the cd5400? please help

I have B&W 601s used with Marantz PM7200 and CD7300 - I find the result great; power and detail.

I have been running a PM7200 and the CD6000 OSE, through TDL RTL3se and Rogers DB101 speakers, depending on the occasion. I have no complaints with the amp what so ever. The TDLs are strong on bass the Rogers high end and mid range, yet the PM7200 drives them both beautifully. Occasionally I wire up both speakers and run them together rather than bi-wiring the TDLs, this really shows the amps class, particularly in Class A mode. Given the current bargains to be had on the CD7300, that's the one I'd go for and may yet go for myself. But of the two above the OSE is the one to go for I recommended that combination to a music academic and she was extremely pleased and rated as much better than the Cambridge Audio Azur 640 amp and cd combo.
