I'm on the verge of buying a mp3 player, yet to decide which one but I have around 60 mini discs that I would like to transfer to mp3, how can this be done and would it be worth it? I have a sonyMDS-JE480 mini disc deck, would appreciate any help on this.

Hi Chris, the way I see it is you could do it two ways - either buy an MP3 player with a line-in socket and record directly from the minidisc deck, OR use the line in on your PC's sound card (line out from mini disc deck) and rip to MP3 that way. What stuff is on the mini disks? If it's stuff you value, then it's definitely worth making a back up onto MP3...

Thanks for the reply, I favour the MP3 player with line-in socket option easier I hope, which player would you recommend? I'm after a memory of around 1GB with WMA facility and FM radio.
Thanks

No probs. Have you seen Creative's MuVo Micro 200? It's got EXACTLY what you're after - 1GB Hard drive, good FM radio, line in and will playback in WMA!! £110, but well worth it I reckon. Only thing to bear in mind is that direct MP3 recording to the player has a max quality of 160kbps. Is that going to be enough??

I Have seen the MuVo Micro 200 and think this could well be my best option as a late starter in this field, thanks for the advice.
