Following on from a thread on here mentioning the w800 (the walkman branded mobile) I notice the nearly identical k750 is now available. It has memory stick duo compatibility so has an mp3 player of possible 2gb capacity. I'm interested to know if anybody has one yet? If so whats the verdict? Specifically on the music capabilities, the camera and the battery life. (I currently have a k700 which needs to be charged every day which obviously isn't good) Oh yeah and what the phone call/messenging capabilities like?!

Good to hear that phone's out now I've been looking forward to it for some time now and I'm due an upgrade in just under 2 months. I'll let you know first hand what its like then. In the mean time check out the review at mobileburn, it's very positive apparently with a 15 day standby battery life! I to have a k700 and the prospect of not having to charge my battery on a daily basis is so welcome its almost unbelievable.

Talktime 9hrs, standby 500hrs sounds pretty darn good to me. That review was as you say very positive and I'm pretty sure this'll be my next phone. Its this or the Nokia N90, what do people think I should go for?

I'd definately go for the sonyericsson over the nokia, also worth consideration is this phone from samsung; 2mp camera with flash 80mb plus trans flash support acc/mp3 etc...

I have th3 K700i and am very impressed with it. I will definately be upgarding to the K750 when my contract runs out in a few months. I used to have nokias but they are so common now...

Interesting that your k700 has to be charged everyday. mine lasts for about 5 days. What is your usage factor?

I haven't got the phone, but one of my friends has and his photos looks like it came from a digital camera!

The only feature that I don't like about his phone is the annoying Tarzan ringtone!

yes it a great phone if you like the way this series works... I gave up mine because I wanted better ringtones, and also it is not possible change the sms tones from what they provide...

another thing to remember about multi-function phones is that you will be using it alot longer than normal!! the battery would run down alot faster not just due to the fancy display.....

the only way to get full life in 'walkman' mode would be to *switch off* the 'phone' part.. :O :O

I agree with the battery life, so I'm sure it's worth spending a bit more for a spare battery.

John you've got to be winding us up, 5 days on a k700? No chance! Mine requires charging daily or at the least once every 2 days even if I don't use it very much (which by the way doesn't happen very often because I'm extremely popular and people are always texting and ringing me, albeit mainly orange and recorded voices telling me I've won a car!).

But really 5 days!? Do you actually use it at all?

Well I was going to go for a k750 when I ge my upgrade, but I think I'm now going to wait for the w800 (the walkman phone) having seen the first review for it. It looks amazing. Anybody know if it's gonna be available on Orange?

Euler, which model looks amazing? The phone or the ladies? :p

According to Carphone's website, they are expecting the phone to arrive in August, but didn't say which network.

Oh thats a shame you had to lower the tone, I fond that degrading ; )

I actually went on the orange website and the w800 is listed as coming soon so it'll definately be available on the network. Roll on next month...
