Can anyone give me advice on the Panasonic LXD500 ? I want to buy a 32 LCD TV but not sure which one to get. It is either the Phillips 9976 or the Panny, any advice welcome.

If you want to read a quite extensive customer review I found one for the Phillips here:

I'm looking into getting an LCD tv as well, just not sure whether I can justify the expense when you can get a top of the range CRT far far cheaper...... maybe that review has persuaded me though....

Thanks. I nearly bought the panasonic yesterday, but my wife called at a key moment and reminded me of the price. I amnow considering my options and may wait for a few months for a price reduction. What is your opinion on internet purchases for these TV's ? They seem a lot cheaper but the guarantees are not as long as shop purchases. Are you going to buy yours via the internet or shop ?

Go via the internet you'll save money and get the same product. Forget the two LCD's you've been looking at and go for this

Samsung 32"

Nice one Robbie, at first glance this looks like a fantastic bargain. Why is this better than the other ones, apart from the obvious price ?

It's mainly the amazing price but also I think it's more aesthetically pleasing than the other two and it's also got HDMI input, which I'm not sure the others do, so you get a degree of future proofing.

The other two are both excellent tv's but the Samsung is at the very least on par if not higher quality and up to half the price.

Thanks robbie, I am going to start researching this product. The price is definately appealing. Have you seen this TV in action ? Do you have one ? Both the Phillips & Panasonic have HDMI input. I seen the Panasonic in the shop yesterday with a HDMI input, the picture was amazing. I have never seen anything so clear. Whats the sound like on the Samsung ? Do you know anaything about the reliability of Samsung ? I had a digital phone from them and it broke down within 2 years so I am not confident on there reliability. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks

Alas no I posted a thread the other day to see if I could get any info from others but there's not been any yet:(

I can tell you though that Samsung along with LG are the major manufacturers of LCD and Plasma screens and frequently supply their screens to other manufacturers for use in their own television sets. (i.e. samsung and lg screens are often used in non samsung or lg products) This means the screens are of the best quality in the industry.

I'm desperately trying to raise funds to get one of these as I'm sure the price must be a mistake and that it'll be marked up soon!

It would be nice though to see a review, let me know if you manage to find one and likewise I'll do the same.

Robbie, you're in luck. I have just found some reviews on the Hitachi. Follow this link. Pay attention to the different model numbers, apparently one is digital and one is analogue.....
