Hi people,i was just wondering if any of you out there own a pair or have heard the wharfedale evolution 40s as i'm thinking of purchasing a set.If so could you give me some feedback on this model.Another thing is i cant seem to find them on the net in maple which is my preferred colour, they only seem to have them in black. So if anyone can give me a few pointers on this model and maybe where i can get them in maple i'd much appreciate it.This will really be my first set of upgraded speakers so a little help would be very useful, thanks.

Hi Gary

Sounds like you've got your heart set on a tricky one. Here's a response from one of the guys at Wharfedale:

"We've been clearing out the Evos for a good couple of months now, and the EVO40s in maple were all sent out at least two months ago. We never anticipated the EVO40 to be that popular in the UK due to their size - so we didn't bring many in to begin with. However, we do still have some left in black.

As we no longer have any here, and the last was sent out a while ago, then unfortunately you're probably going to have to trawl the dealers for what was a rare item to begin with."

Is there any info or reviews on this model, more than just specs,an actual response to the sound and clarity from a neutral listener.I really want to get it right when i purchase an upgrade and the evos caught my eye instantly. So really i would like to know if they are as good as they say they are.My musical taste if it helps in anyway describing these speakers is anything from electronic, industrial and rock.Thank you very much for your help.

I am looking to buy a new pair of speakers, and I understand that if I "bi-wire" them, the sound will improve. Can someone explain to all us comparative newcomers to hi-fi what this means and how it is done ,please.
